I'm Marisa

I was born and raised in Brooklyn, and graduated from Columbia University where I double-majored in Economics and Latin American Studies. After spending the better part of a decade working in the music industry and booking tours for pop-punk & emo bands, I became intrigued with the world of software development and decided it was time for a career change. I was fortunate to stumble upon the Grace Hopper Program at Fullstack Academy, an immersive software engineering bootcamp focused on full stack JavaScript... and the rest is history.

My prior career experience with client services and product development makes me a clear communicator, creative problem solver and incredibly passionate about everything I build. These days, I'm excited to continue to grow my knowledge and collaborate with other innovative folks to create technology that positively impacts the world around us. When I'm not writing code, you can find me reading in McCarren Park or listening to music as I wander around the neighborhood in search of delicious food.
