Hello!

I'm Marisa Li, a full stack software engineer based in New York City.

I was born and raised in Brooklyn, and graduated from Columbia University where I double-majored in Economics and Latin American Studies. After over ten years working in the music industry and booking tours for pop-punk & emo bands, I fell in love with the world of software development and decided it was time for a career change. I was fortunate to stumble upon the Grace Hopper Program at Fullstack Academy, a 17-week immersive software engineering bootcamp focused on full stack JavaScript, where I initially honed my skills as a student and was subsequently hired as teaching fellow.

My prior career experience with client services and product development makes me a clear communicator, creative problem solver and incredibly passionate about everything I build. Moving forward, I'm excited to continue to grow my knowledge and collaborate with other innovative people to create technology that positively impacts the world around us. When I'm not writing code, you can find me reading a book in McCarren Park, checking out a new artist at the Music Hall of Williamsburg, chowing down at my favorite restaurants in Greenpoint or hitting the waves in the Rockaways.
